Best of 2020
Can you believe it? By this time next week, this horrific year will be over! Of course, the pandemic will live on for a bit longer until enough people are immune, but at least now we are seasoned to the struggle.
But not everything in 2020 was awful. Our pets were happier than they've ever been. We adapted and learned how to do things in a way that actually made everyday life easier in some ways for those who weren't able to fully participate before the pandemic even hit. We learned how to use Zoom, how to bake, and exactly how much toilet paper a family uses in a week.
And we had some decent blog posts, even trying out a "virtual Disney visit" mode for a while.
These are the posts our readers most liked in 2020. If you're newer to our blog and missed them, they make for cozy reading on a cold winter's night.
Our most popular post in 2020, by far, was our blog post celebrating Imagineer Joe Rohde's contributions to Disney and news of his retirement. And we think this is just right.
Our second most popular was also fairly recent when we helped you find gifts for the Disney fan in your life (or, you know, for yourself).
Our Disney at a Distance series was a source of many "likes" as well. This was something different than anything we've tried before. In this series, while Walt Disney World was closed due to the pandemic, we dedicated a post each week to "touring" one land with music, links to ride through videos, recipes, and tips to make the atmosphere just right at home. People especially liked virtual visits to:
We also like sharing information about the Disney College Program, so rounding out our popular posts was this one about why college students should consider the Disney College Program.
In case you missed it, the following posts, although not all among our top posts in popularity, were our personal favorites to write:
Our ode to Joe Rohde (linked above)
Our College Program encouragement (linked above)
Our first Disney at a Distance post: Morning on Main Street, USA
Disney at a Distance: Japan pavilion (an unusual challenge in that there are no rides at this pavilion)
Our look behind the scenes at what Cast Members call "The Show"
And since we love to talk strategy, our posts entitled Fluffy Versus Flight of Passage and Park Hopper 2.Meh were fun to put together.
We hope this list provides a fun look back. What do you want to see more of next year? Tell us about it in the comments or over on our Facebook page. Until then, see you next year!
