Disney at a Distance: Galaxy's Edge

During the nation's coronavirus crisis, and Walt Disney World's temporary closure, we are bringing you a virtual visit each week with sounds, videos, and recipes from one land at a time.

This week, we have to go there - Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.

Before your adventure, you might consider preparing some of these magical extras:

  • Blue milk

  • We know you're making bread lately, so why not try Rey's bread?

  • Fix yourself one of these copycat drinks from Oga's Cantina

  • Also, it's ok if you want to dress up like your favorite Star Wars character for a little cosplay. Heck, get your lightsaber out if you have one!

At Star Wars Galaxy's Edge, every action you take could align you with the First Order or the Rebel Alliance. Think about what you would choose to play as you listen to the area theme music.

Let's start by getting acquainted with the land with a little walk through.

Uh oh! Kylo Ren and the First Order appear to have landed on Batuu.

There are two major rides at Galaxy's Edge right now: Smuggler's Run and Rise of the Resistance. Let's start with a cruise on Smuggler's Run.

If you were thinking the First Order is pretty cool, you might want to reconsider, because the Resistance has Chewbacca. Chewbacca arrives at Batuu now recruiting people who can learn to Wookie Roar and scare away the First Order. I've... got a bad feeling about this.

Rise of the Resistance may be the most ambitious ride at Walt Disney World yet and that makes it worth a full experience. Now it's your chance!

Wow, what an experience. It's been an eventful day. Maybe you just would like to settle from your adventures at Oga's Cantina to wrap up your afternoon on Batuu. Let's close this post with the playlist from Oga's Cantina while you sip one of those drinks you mixed.

We hope you had fun at Galaxy's Edge today! We'll be back next week with another adventure.
