Baby Animals! (Jan 2020)
On January 29th, Disney's Animal Kingdom guests had their first chance to see two new baby animals born at the Animal Kingdom.
The first of these is a baby Hartmann's zebra, the first of its species born at the park. The foal was born on January 21st, weighing in at 65 pounds, and walking within 30 minutes of birth. While the foal is not yet named, it can be seen with its mother, Prima, on Kilimanjaro Safaris.

But wait, there's more!
On January 15th, Disney's Animal Kingdom also welcomed a male Angolan black and white Colobus monkey to the world, named Douglas. Douglas can be seen with his mom, Zahra, on the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail. And isn't his mama regal?

Right now, he can be easy to spot as a tuft of white curled up by his mom. As he grows up, his colors will invert so that he looks like the other adults. He is the second of the species born at Disney's Animal Kingdom. He has an older sister named Alika.
Disney's Animal Kingdom also celebrated the births of a giraffe in January 2019, and a gorilla in May of 2019.
The baby animals born at Disney's Animal Kingdom are a sign of the health of the animals there, as well as a symbol of hope for some rare and endangered species that are part of re-population programs Disney's Animal Kingdom takes part in.
