Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser - More Details!

As details are released about Walt Disney World's newest form of vacation, I have been steadily changing my tune from "I wouldn't spend two whole nights trapped in my resort when all of Walt Disney World waits just outside!" to "When can I spend two nights trapped in my resort while I immerse in the Star Wars story, please?" ... And I don't think I'm the only one.

Recently, some more details have come forth about the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser that we're super excited about. Here's what we now know.

1. It's like a cruise - in space.

That's right. It's all inclusive. All recreation, all dining, is included with your cabin on the star cruiser. Every cabin has a vew of the galaxy floating by as you journey on the starcruiser to exotic locales.

2. You arrive via space elevator.

After checking in at the planetside terminal, you will board a space elevator which will take you from Orlando, Florida to the Starcruiser where it waits in orbit. Oh, and you get a nice view in this elevator.

3. You get a planetary excursion.

Similar to a shore excursion on a sea cruise, this space cruise offers a planetary excursion to Black Spire Outpost (aka - the Galaxy's Edge land of Disney Hollywood Studios) where you can continue to interact with the story.

4. You never have to leave the story.

The whole time you are on the "star cruise" you can be completely oblivious to anything but the story if you wish. Even when you go to Disney Hollywood Studios to visit Black Spire Outpost, are are taken there and leave there in a transport shuttle from which you are not exposed to the outside world.

5. There is virtual lightsaber training onboard!!!!

WHY am I so excited about this? But really, pick up a lightsaber and wield it in a simulation. Who knows? This might come in handy!

6. Laugh it up, fuzzball.

There's a good chance you might get to meet Chewbacca. Or Rey, or Kylo Ren, or any number of other Star Wars characters who may or may not be making rounds of the ship.

7. Sense the force in you, they can. Yes.

Apparently every action you take, every friendship you form, aligns you with either the rebels or the empire, the dark or the light side, so choose your actions carefully.

8. I've got a bad feeling about this.

The starcruiser is completely safe. Completely. It has a state of the art defense system and from the bridge, evasive maneuvers can be performed. Weird for a cruise ship? Nah! In fact, the crew is happy to teach you how to use those defenses on a tour of the bridge. That, along with your light saber training, is just what people do. It will probably never come in handy. Ever. Except in the "extremely unlikely" event of some sort of space battle. Which would never happen.

Ohmygosh, I'm so excited! I hope this doesn't turn out to be as expensive or difficult to get as a night in the castle because I NEED to do this. And I'm not even as big a Star Wars fan as some!

What are you most excited about? Share in the comments.

Until next time...!
