The Ultimate Sassy Snack Around World Showcase Itinerary
World Showcase in EPCOT is the ultimate destination for snacking and drinking while experiencing some culture. With lots of different cuisines to try, you're bound to find something new to fall in love with. After seeing some questions posted by folks on Disney forums I follow, I thought it might be fun to lay out what MY ultimate itinerary would be to snack around World Showcase.
Of course, during a festival is the best time to go for the ultimate snacking experience in World Showcase. During the Festival of the Arts, Flower and Garden Show, and of course, Food and Wine festival, kiosks are set up to sell limited edition creative foods. And you can often use snack credits from dining plans at these kiosks!
But the kiosks change and are only around during certain times of year, so this time I want to focus on the ultimate snacking itinerary for ANY time, regardless of a festival or not.
Mexico
Choza de Margarita - get yourself a margarita to carry on your journey. While Cava del Tequila has some more interesting drinks, I choose Choza de Margarita because it doesn't have the same long lines Cava del Tequila has, and you can get your drink to go.
Norway
Kringla Bakeri Og Cafe - Everyone is crazy about the school bread, but if coconut isn't your thing, try another pastry like the troll horn.
China
Lotus Blossom Cafe - Here, I'm going to suggest getting the caramel ginger ice cream. It is SO good.
Germany
Karamel Kuche - This is a shop off the square where you can see the bags of caramel corn in the window. The shop also sells Werthers candies. I'm going to suggest getting the caramel corn. You MIGHT want to save this for later.
Sommerfest - If your sweet tooth is not yet overwhelmed, I suggest getting and sharing a slice of Black Forest Cherry Cake. You may choose to pair this with a Riesling wine.
Italy
Via Napoli Pizza Window (seasonal) - This is open during the peak season. If open, then this is the stop I suggest. Get a slice of any pizza. You might wish to pair with a Limoncello Mule.
If the pizza window isn't open, then stop at the Italian Donkey cart for the Limoncello Mule (but sadly, no pizza).
If you're up for it, then I'll also suggest the Gelato Kiosk for some gelato. Or cannoli, or tiramisu. Honestly, it's so hard to decide.
Skip the American Adventure pavilion. You can see the attraction if you want. It's actually quite good. But the food here is nothing to write home about.
Then hold on to your hats because some of my favorite foods are in the second half.
Japan
Kabuki Cafe - for the kids, get a kakigori shaved ice, possibly topped with sweet cream if desired. For the adults, try the adult version called the Sake Mist. Alcoholic shaved ice? Yes, please. Also try the Temari sushi combo.
Morocco
Tangerine Cafe - get the lamb shawarma platter and share it with your traveling companions. If the lamb freaks you out, there is a chicken version as well (but the lamb is really, really good). You might wish to pair this with the Moroccan mint tea.
France
Boulangerie Patisserie les Halles - This is more of an "order what catches your eye" place as all of the wonderful pastries and sandwiches are on display. I recommend beignets if you've never had them before, or the chocolate tart, or the tartine aux fromages, or the cheese plate. Honestly, it's all so very good. Just get what strikes you.
Then if you'd like a draaaank, head over to Les Vins de Chefs de France and get an orange slush. It's all the rage.
The United Kingdom
One of the finest places to relax in World Showcase is the Rose and Crown Beer Garden. Settle in with a view of the lagoon and maybe have some fish and chips to go with your lager or cider. If you wish to keep moving, you can also get the fish and chips at the Yorkshire Fish window, all wrapped in newspaper like it should be.
For something take home, you might wish to visit the Twinings Tea shop and pick out a flavor (I'm partial to Earl Grey, hot).
If you plan to linger a while, then dine in the Rose and Crown pub itself and ask to sit outside for a wonderful view of the lagoon. You'll need an ADR for this and you'll want to arrive extra early for it if you plan to ask for a view of the fireworks.
Canada
Skip the pavilion itself and keep walking back to the World Showcase plaza, where you can order a true Canadian treat, poutine, at the Refreshment Port. There are two kinds: traditional and beef brisket.
Full yet? There is so much good food in World Showcase so if you were to go and see something that catches your eye other than what I mentioned, try it!
Also, this post fails to go into detail about the table service restaurants in World Showcase, in favor of snacks. A lot of these places are truly unique and worth the experience.
